Weds May 7th vs Cleveland
Sold the tickets tonight to a buddy at work Scott Curley.Classic Pitching Matchup...Cliff Lee vs Wang (both undefeated to this point)....Yanks got blanked 3-0. Again, no run support despite another solid pitching performance.
Mike was at the game tonight sitting in the RF Bleechers Sec 39 one last time...not much to root for but nevertheless it was nice to be there in that hallowed ground.
Tuesday May 6 Yanks vs Cleveland
Coop had the tix tonight and our old friend Scanlon was at the game on his behalf. Game started off real well until Joba decided to throw too many breaking balls in the 8th and gave up the 3-2 lead the yanks had amassed through 7. Yanks lost a tough one 5-3 on Dellucci's 3 run jack off of Joba to seal it. Yankee offense did little to help Pettite....

Friday 05/02 vs Seattle
Mike and I are going again...to get some revenge on last nights affairs. Great matchup tonight...Wang vs Bedard. Yanks need a W in a bad way.
Great pitching Matchup...Wang was Brilliant and yanks jumped to an early lead thanks to a few Mariner errors. Bedard was equally impressive but was on the wrong side today and was the hard luck loser.
Mike picked up some Blimpie heros (traditionally very successful at the stadium) and I picked up my first win of the season. Whew...the monkey is off my back.
Got to see Joba and Moe do their thing which is always fun to watch. Farsnworth was awesome, so hopefully he can settle in to be the 7th inning guy they need so desperately with my boy Bruney out.
Final: Yanks win 5-1

Thursday 05/01/08 vs Detroit..Where to begin

OK I am back. First game in a month! Cant believe its been a month since my last game. Totally pumped for this game...heading up with Mike who is meeting me at the merenge bar where I will be relaxing with Mahat and Donnelly (Fujis baby) and eating some Mofongo.
Yanks broke out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to an Abreu 3 run bomb in the first. Kennedy looked sharp early on and things were looking good...
Tigers stormed back and toom a 4-3 lead...the rain was coming down and we were still in the merenge bar while this was all happening..the beers were flowing.
We got into the game around the 3rd or 4th inning...rain was still coming down and it actually picked up a little bit, but we were undeterred. Did the typical veteran move and went to the mens room and got some paper towels and wiped down the seats...Ahhhhh finally....Mike and I had made it to our little piece of heaven together for the first time this year...a little late but we were happy nontheless.
Being the stand up guy that he is, Mike graciously offered to purchase the obligatory sac-o-nuts having lost round 1 of our fantasy baseball matchup this year- this is good news for me- its been a while since I fielded a good team and so far so good. This is when things started to get ugly....
The dude in front of us proceeded to open up his umbrella within minutes of us just getting there....this thing was HUGE and provided shelter for practically the entire row. Much to our chagrin, the giant golf-type umbrella was blocking our view of home plate and we couldn't see the game. I was busy securing brews for the boys while Mike was trying to politely ask the guy if he could lower his umbrella. No response. Nothing....So i asked a couple of times myself and not a peep. It's as if we didnt exist. So I proceeded to take matters into my own hands...a few sarcastic witty comments, now i got the whole row laughing at the situation things were getting funnier by the minute...I proceeded to discard my empty peanut shells all over the giant DOME that was blocking our precious view which we were being deprived of. Within 5 minutes there was a nice little nest on top of this dudes umbrella thanks to my creative art work...I even wedged some shells in the spokes on the side and the little pointy thing on the top....I was having a grand ol time and the umbrealla man didnt seem to mind one bit....
Turns out I was not on everyones favorite list that day....The 2 old ladys to my left politely asked me to stop with the shells. I told them to mind their own business in a non confrontational way...indicating that i felt that this was not very nice on these guys part to have little regard for our situation. She told me if i put one more shell on the umbrella she was gonna contact security. Naturally, I proceeded to take a peanut out of the bag and put the shell on with the rest of them. Seemed like the right thing to do.....Making friends..it's what i do best.
Thats it, she was up and at em, she went to security....
So now the nest is bubbling over....we have been at the game for maybe 15 -20 minutes and I have seen less than an inning worth of baseball.
Next some uniform cop leans over and looks at us and starts laughing hysterically...and is ilke...cmon, you gotta be kidding me....Dude. Then he politely asks to speak with us for a second and the next thing I know we are walking down the ramp out of the game! There was no exchange, no nothing...no chance for a rebuttal, just a cold hard shoulder. At this point i was pretty pissed that this was all going down and my main concern was the tickets and our seats....What really pushed my buttons is that we were the victim and ended up outta there...So there you have it, my first ever ejection from a sporting event that I was not currently participating.
Mike and I headed to try to go bowling to take out the frustration....no lanes were open (of course). Then we went back to the merenge bar and waited for mahat and donnelly to arrive shortly thereafter.....Fun times
Attached is a picture from Mahats Cell phone of what this thing looked like...Look how happy they are in there....Bunch of meat heads i tell ya....

If you look carefully enough you can see some of the peanut shells thru the umbrella...classic!
